In February 2025, a Savannah delegation led by City of Savannah Mayor Van R. Johnson II and World Trade Center Savannah President and CEO Trip Tollison traveled to Limerick, Ireland to participate in meetings focused on trade, tourism and economic development opportunities between the two regions. Representatives from Visit Savannah, Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, Bank of America Global Commercial Banking and U.S. Intermodal Corporation also participated in the visit.

During the visit, the delegation met with local government officials, economic development organizations, educational institutions and cultural leaders throughout the Limerick region. A formal Friendship Agreement was signed with the Mayor of Limerick and other Irish officials to support future collaboration between Savannah and Limerick.

Discussions during the visit focused on transportation, housing, tourism, innovation and regional development. The delegation also visited King John’s Castle, Mungret Monastery and Adare Manor, the future site of the 2027 Ryder Cup.

The delegation also met with PBC Biomed, an Irish medical device company exploring expansion opportunities in the United States market. Savannah was discussed as a potential location for future U.S. operations and strategic partnerships.

The visit was part of WTCSav’s ongoing international engagement efforts to strengthen relationships and promote the Savannah region globally.
